Here's Your Chance....

.....to say what you like about giveaways.
what would you like to win.... what wouldn't you want to win... do you want to know exactly what's in your box or do you like surprises?
Is candy a good thing to get in a giveaway? And what's your favorite kind?
Do you enter giveaways for the prizes or for the thrill of seeing your name pulled? What is it that will prompt you to leave a comment on a giveaway post or to just skip it and wish the others Good Luck?

I've been gone for the last few days, and I'm just getting caught up on your blog.
Very cute dog. Your children, and the new puppy look very content.
I have a copy of one of Mrs. Child's books called "The American Frugal Housewife". It was published in 1833 but her advice still applies in so many ways to today.
I haven't participated in any give aways as of yet. I'm just happy to see others win.

I mostly respond when I think someone might be interested in what I would say. I am inspired in most cases to comment more than because of a give away. I never win but that is ok as I will be winning the lottery soon!HAHA. Yesterdays blogging was very inspiring and made me think. I have so many projects but I just find it hard to not try them all. I finish many projects so don't get me wrong but to have only one...that would be hard. PattiO

I usually skip the blogs that ask that you post a link on your own blog. When I do a giveaway I like to think it's the regular readers/visitors that will comment, So if there's a giveawy I try to make a point of only commenting on the blogs that I regularly read myself. As for content, being a quilter, anything quilty related is always a good thing. I'm not a big candy eater so it wouldn't bother me either way. Love the photo of Molly in your header, I imagine she's getting a lot of sleep with two little ones to love on her.

I also tend to skip the blog giveaways that request you post a link on your own blog. As I'm always a bit leery of what the border inspectors might confiscate, I don't send foodstuffs. A friend sent me a package with some spices and it took months to get here -- as the Customs people had to inspect, it seemed, each grain of that spice! LOL
Content of giveaways? Anything stitch related!

Regarding giveaways, I must admit I'm like a little girl in a toys shop : it's difficult to resist ;>) Now to think of it, it's not the prize itself, rather the thrill and excitement of maybe being the lucky winner. Be it a very simple little quilty notion, or a big quilt, I love being part of the "game", just for fun, and I'm always truly happy for the winner. I only won once : it was a lovely pincushion made by Darlene at "Quilting Daze" blog and I treasure it.
I do skip some giveaways when I know they're not for me. For example : Hanne is now having a giveaway for a beautiful bag pattern, but I'm not good at making bags...
Some giveaways require to post about it on your blog - they're usually from selling quilters, or shops. This makes their publicity and attracts new readers - fair games, I think. It doesn't bother me.
Candy ? Hmmmm, I once experienced a parcel stopped at the customs for a looooong time, so I'd rather not. Besides, I'm more salt than sugar, and a little spool of thread makes me happier than a candy... HeeHee....
However, When sending a parcel away, I'd LOVE adding some of our delicious Belgian chocolates or biscuits, but again I'm fearing the customs :>(

I usually skip the ones that have a whole list of things to do but if it's for quilting stuff...I'll more than likely do it. Especially if it's a big prize, or a surprise. I love surprises. I love candy too. There's really nothing that you can giveaway that I wouldn't love. (even size 5 jeans, I'd add them to me quilt!)

I do eventually comment on blogs I read regularly, and on most giveaways except those that ask to you to blog about it. I don't have much to say sometimes, and I hate to finally blog and it's just about a giveaway. I like to know, just because i can't wait for surprises (terrible at Christmas) Love candy, but I agree thread and fabric travel better!

I enjoy the excitement of winning. Anything quilty is great. Fabric, magazines anything! Surprises are fun, chocolates are my favourite; and it's nice to receive parcels in the mail!

What a darling puppy!! Makes me want one ... and the LAST thing I need is a 3rd dog!!

As for give-aways ... I enter them for both reasons, for a chance at the prize, and for the thrill of possibly winning. But I know the odds aren't in my favor. It's just kind of a fun thing to do. I don't enter giveaways for things that I will never use, just for things I would truly enjoy having. I like all things quilty ... but I do a little knitting too.

I like surprises.

I can't have candy, so that's not a big thing for me, but when I get it, I give it away and my family loves it!!

ok i do it just for sme thing to do and well how the old saying go's if you dont play you cant win and well when i win some thing i'm happy abt it and realy thank full and grate full for it. but if i dont win its not that big of a deal and well with me i'm ok with every thing wining or loseing no matter what i know theres always a next time. but what the thing i dont like is when you win some thing and it never comes to your home but yet you know you won it . it kind of makes you wonder what ever happen to it and yes i had that happen to me more then once but hay no big deal on that it just go's to show how bad other's can be over some thing like this.

I have won one giveaway, which was a pattern and I was thrilled because I happen to know the designer but I hosted a giveaway and it got a rather quiet response...I was offering to give away charm squares and asked people to say why they wanted a particular one.
I ended up buying some more and sending a pkt to each person who entered and in that case just the joy and fun of giving was the best part of it all.

I enjoy entering if it's any treat to do with quilting or a sewing or crafty surprise but not candies.
If it's not something I'd like I just enjoy the reading of the blog for that day and move on so someone else can win. To receive a package in the mail would be wonderful, guess
that's why I throw my name in.

love to read the blogs,( as you know) and enter the giveaways if its something l like and its quilty although l don't seem to be very lucky! I don't like that you have to advertise the giveaway on your own blog if you enter as not everyone has their own blog,
love your new puppy, what a cutie

I like giveaways, I think they are fun to enter and win. I have hosted a couple and through them have found new blogging friends with common interests. I will not comment on giveaways that do not interest me. I wouldn't want to win the prize and not really enjoy what I receive. I don't want to take the prize away from someone who would really enjoy receiving it. I love your new Christmas background!
