going away...

and with me I shall take ....
a book...
a block..
and a sock 40 hours in an ice rink waiting this coming week and surely one can be finished. The Quilt Merchant shop will only be a short drive away. My son will be in hockey camp all day and girlie can easily be bribed with a trip to Dunkin Donuts which is just down the street from the shop. If you're in the Chicago area this is a very sweet little shop and well worth the time to visit....especially if you like Civil War reproductions or Blackbird Designs books or patterns.

I agree - the Quilt Merchant shop is a must if you love reproduction fabrics. I visited the shop once and yes, I found a lot to take home with me. Have fun Christine!

Sounds like it will be a well-spent trip. ... I was able to try out the scrubbie link you posted on July 29th. Thank you! It was a lot of fun to make and drew so many questions out of my family members. What fun! And, it works so well!

Yay, Pine Burr! So you've begun, it's beautifully done. One of the reasons I decided against it was because I thought the side triangles weren't right angled, but oblique and I didn't want to work so hard. But yours looks like hst's, yes?

I hope you have had a wonderful trip!! I wish we had done more of it when we were younger. We did not!!
When you are ready to blog surf come and see me. I put some pictures on my blog showing my abilities of sewing and quilting last night. Post Love Vest 8 20th 09. My blog friends really do not know what I can do.

My, your block is very nicely made. I had an older woman tell me once that your handwork should look as good on the back as it does on the front. And it stuck with me. The back of your block looks very nice and neat. That is my goal when I get done with all my ufo's. I am going to design and hand quilt my own quilt. I've been collecting pictures of quilts, blocks I like, etc to put in my quilt. Do you have a little sewing organizer that you carry with you to do your handwork? Love to see that too!
