one step left

We traveled this weekend for my son's state hockey playoff games and I took my stitching along.  The lighting in the hotel room was horrible!  I really need to start packing my travel Ott light when I leave home.
I was able to complete the out hand pieced ring while we were away. Deciding to wait until we got home this morning to applique the center circle was the best decision.  I know I would have been unhappy with the stitching.  It's Monday morning and my family has returned to their busy school and work days.  The dogs are still at the kennel until I pick them up this afternoon.  It's so very quiet that you could hear a pin drop.  Well let's hope not to hear any at least.
If all goes well appliqueing the circle onto the background I should have a finished block soon.  I took copious notes on each step so far because I'd love to have a Sunburst quilt in scrappy blues and cream.  But I don't want to jinx myself.  So far this block feels like it has a lot of beginner's luck in it.
Have a great week!

YESSS ! What a beautiful block!
I just knew you'd make it, keep going, and keep taking notes, because, indeed, a big quilt with such blocks would be to die for¨*Ü*

Heartful thoughts,

What a great color scheme. I love the pattern and have collected it several times into my binder through the years. I sewed *one* on the machine and made it in sunflower colors, then into a wall hanging. What a beautiful full-sized quilt you have ahead of you!
